Restoration & Regeneration Story

We’ve completed scores of restoration tasks around this enormous building.

This is very exciting time with major restoration and regeneration projects underway. In 2023, we were awarded £2,743,002 from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s Cultural Development Fund.

The grants includes £2.5m of capital funding for restoration work and improvements to the building, alongside £700,000 of additional funding. These funds include £200,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fun. These grants marked the largest single investment in the Winter Gardens for more than 100 years.

2024

Interventions proposed include widening fire escapes, improving toilet facilities, and upgrading the building’s accessibility.

We aim to reopen the Dress Circle and install sponsored seats in April 2026.
