In early 2024, we hosted a series of events to provide an opportunity for the community to discover more about the ongoing work at Morecambe Winter Gardens, hear from leading figures from the arts, culture, regeneration and tourism sectors, and learn more about the plans for the landmark venue. 

Community Conversations: Restoration & Regeneration – The Journey So Far

22nd March 2024

In the first of the Community Conversation events, Professor Vanessa Toulmin, Chair of Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust, was joined by Stephen Anderson (Buttress), Jamie Pratt (Place Capital Group) and Michael Rieveley (Rieveley Resoration) to discuss the building and its historic nature, the ongoing restoration, and future capital works.

Community Conversations: Young Creatives & Young People

In the second of the Community Conversation events, Professor Vanessa Toulmin, Chair of Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust, was joined by Victoria Carter (Lancaster and Morecambe College) and Jonathon Best (Director of Northern Silents) to discuss the Young Creatives programme and developing new audiences for the Winter Gardens.

Community Conversations: Programming the ‘Albert Hall of the North’

In the third Community Conversation event, Professor Vanessa Toulmin, Chair of Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust, was joined by Matt Panesh (Morecambe Poetry Festival) and Andy Smith (co-founder of the Kendal Calling) to discuss programming the Morecambe Winter Gardens – and what events and acts audiences can expect to see in the venue in the future.
